How do I know that the au pairs displayed are still looking for a placement?

Through a number of measures, Aupair World ensures the quality of the search results. In order to assure that only profiles of those au pairs who are currently actively searching for a host family, are displayed, the following applies:

• Only profiles with a current start date or a start date in the future are displayed. Profiles of which the start date lies in the past can therefore not be displayed.
   
• Only au pairs who have logged into their profiles within the last 14 days are displayed in the lists. We presume that these are au pairs who are still looking for a family, even though there might be a few among them, who have already found someone.
   
• Profiles of au pairs who have already found a family are manually deactivated by the au pair or the Aupair World team.
   
• Au pairs who have too many unanswered messages are equally not displayed.

Are the au pairs genuine?

Over the years, Aupair World has steadily been working on the development of  various security measures in order to ensure the quality and trustability of the data provided on our website. Checking profiles is one of them. In this context, it may be interesting for you to know that many of these checks are automatically done by our systems, but the biggest part is manually done by the Aupair World Team. As a host family you can also do a lot to find out whether the au pairs you are contacting are genuine or not. 

If you have doubts about an au pair, stop the contact at once and then inform us. We will be glad to look into the matter for you or take further steps.

How are the search results sorted?

All au pairs in the search results are listed in the order of their last login. This way, everyone will have the chance to be at the top of the list if he or she regularly logs in and answers received messages.

How can my search lead me to a more specific result?

By using the avanced search, you can define some general criteria for the search such as the country of the au pair, the language, the start date and the duration of the stay. Please note that the profiles in the search lists can only help you get a general overview of the registered au pairs, not those who are most relevant to your preferences.

For more specific results, check the EasyFind feature in your profile. Our system filters out all profiles that mostly match your search relying on more detailed criteria than those in the advanced search. Using your EasyFind is the easiest way that leads to a successful search.

How do I find my own profile?

After the registration and even during the course of their search for an au pair, some host families search for their own profiles in order to make sure that they have done everything correctly and that their profiles will be found by the au pairs. For this purpose, you need to stand in the shoes of an au pair whose profile corresponds with the criteria you indicated in your own profile.

After clicking on "Find a family", you need to indicate as an answer to "I live in" the country that you wish your au pair to come from. The answer to "I would like to be an au pair in" is the country in which you as a host family live in. If you wish to find your profile on the first pages, please remember to log into your profile first. The profiles are sorted according to the last login, the most recent at the top.
